This class is designed for students with some Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) experience or some yoga experience. Students with no SUP experience will start out knee paddling and will be given basic instruction before we begin yoga postures. In other words, we will teach you enough to get you out to the yoga location.
All classes will be held in the ocean at Deerfield Beach on the north side of the Deerfield Beach Pier. If seas are too rough, we will practice on the beach using the SUP board.
Once we arrive at the yoga location, students connect to an achored line to stay in one spot. Your paddle can be clipped to the back of the board so it will stay out of the way. A certified yoga instructor will demonstrate postures designed to stretch and strengthen, as well as focus your mind and breath. These postures will also work the core muscles of your body.
Duration: 1 hr
Schedule: Dates and times change weekly, based on instructor availability, weather, and tide schedule. Private SUP yoga classes available upon request. Please meet at Island Water Sports 15 minutes before class to sign a waiver and check-in. Cost: Rent board - $25 per class.
Bring your own board: $10 per class.
Parking: Parking Garage across from Island Water Sports, or beach parking at the pavilion lot next to JB’s restaurant.
