Stand up paddle boarding, or SUP, is a traditional Hawaiian sport that promotes balance and core strength. Stand Up Paddleboards are versatile and can be used on calm waters or when there are waves to catch; perfect for surfing or cruising the open ocean, waterways, Intracoastal, and mangroves. Whether you want to get a great workout, paddle the flat water, or try catching waves, we can get you moving on a stand up paddle board.

Stand Up Paddle Lesson FAQ

  1. What is the minimum age for surf lessons?

    It is recommended that students be at least five years old before they begin lessons.

  2. Where will the surf lessons be held?

    Lessons are usually done on Deerfield Beach on the North side of the peir. However, on request, an instructor may be able to hold the lessons at your hotel or other South Florida beach.

  3. How long is a lesson usually?

    A standard lesson lasts 90 minutes. Thirty minutes are allowed for beach safety and travel to the beach; then at least one hour of time in the water.

  4. What should I bring with me to the lesson?

    You should bring a towel, sunscreen, a rash guard or extra t-shirt, and a camera for lot of great photo opportunities.

  5. It is cutomary to tip the instructor?

    Just like any service business, tips are always appreciated but not required. A standard 10%-20% is always appreciated if you feel it was a good lesson.

Stand-Up Paddle

Stand up paddle surfing, or SUP, is a surface water sport, a variant of surfing where the surfer uses a paddle to move through the water while standing on a surfboard. The popularity of the modern sport of SUP has its origination in the Hawaiian Islands in the early 1960's. In SUP, one can paddle on the open ocean, in harbors, on lakes, rivers or any large body of water.
